Associate Minister Dennisha Bumpus is a young woman on fire for the Lord. She became a disciple of Washington Street Baptist Church in 2002 at the age of 15 years old. She quickly immersed herself in the ministry with participating in the Youth choir, True Loves Waits, Sunday School and youth ministry under the leadership of Deacon & Deaconess Richard & LaShunda Jones. It was during the youth ministry that Minister Dennisha learned about the Lord the most. As time progressed and she grew to become a young adult she served in the United Voices choir, Team Kids Instructor, Van Driver and Sunday Morning Alive.
Currently, Minister Bumpus serves as Armor Bearer to First Assistant Latasha Williamson, Intercessor, Lead Instructor for Generation Next Experience (a class for middle school) and a Member of Maturing In Christ Sunday Morning Alive Class. She is a member of the WSBC praise ensemble. She is currently the Youth Minister for Youth Ministry (AMPED) 6th-12th grade students and pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Counseling at Lindsay Wilson College. She is a Certified Nursing Assistant.
In Minister’s own words, “I want to embrace the youth and advocate for them so that they will have the opportunity to develop a real relationship with God, learn and understand more scripture, worship God in their own way using their gifts and talents, help them to better understand and become comfortable with experiencing the “zone,” and also still have room to laugh and have a great time. I desire for the youth to be everything that God has called them to be!”
